Bike drive this Saturday!

We are collecting donations and performing free tuneups this Saturday at the Merriam Farmers' Market.  We'll be there 7 am to 1 pm, hanging out and generally being pretty awesome.  Come bring your bikes and your smiling faces!

So this is the reason we need more bikes:

The summer classes are going outrageously well, and they are filled to overflowing with kids eager to get their hands dirty and learn about bikes!

This week alone we are giving away more than 30 bikes, with more to come next week and the next and the next! We need bikes!

Racing!

The racing program is off to a roaring start, with a ton of interest both from the kids and from the Kansas City community (you guys rock!).  Tuesday evening, after a rockin' afternoon of overhauling headsets and bottom brackets, we had another practice.

One of the coolest things about these team events is watching the kids repair and adjust bikes like pros.  After getting our hubs just right and our shifting indexing dialed in, we headed over to Missouri to practice pacelining.

Just a little bit of wind coming off the river gave us perfect conditions to practice drafting and splitting up the work in the wind.  Watch out, roadies!  These guys are gaining on you with their steel ten-speeds!
