Mission Adelante group ride, bike drives and racing team!

Whew!  Last week was AWESOME!  Sixteen incredible kids completed the FreeWheels curriculum and repaired a TON of bikes, we had two awesome bike drives/race team workdays, the race team learned how to ride in a paceline, and we had this HUGE group ride from Mission Adelante to the River Market!

We also went to the KCK Greenmarket (and we will be back on July 4th) and the Merriam Farmers' Market to collect donated bikes (thank you to everyone who brought bikes!) and do some community service. If you missed us at these events, we'll be at the Mission Art Walk on July 13th, and we accept donations at a few locations around the metro.

Catholic Charities' Refugee and Migrant Services  has been working hard to get donated bikes to refugees in Kansas to ride to work, and the FreeWheels Racing crew has been repairing them like nobody's business.  It's amazing to watch kids get a junked bicycle, diagnose problems and repair them, all the while only needing adult help to find the tools they need. These kids are Master Mechanics!

Come ride with us next Saturday!  We could always use more adult riders, and the group is getting bigger all the time!  Just check out these awesome kids:

As always, we welcome your support, just click on the button to the right to donate financially or come to one of our bike drives to donate bikes!  Our next scheduled bike drive is at the Mission Art Walk on July 13th, but we accept donations every day, just contact us!
